Is it new tonight? Air times, preemptions and return dates for CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX primetime dramas and comedies

Primetime Drama On Air answers the questions viewers ask every week about CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX primetime dramas and comedies: is the show new tonight or a repeat, what time and channel it airs, why it isn't on (football, election coverage, holidays and specials), and when it comes back from a break. Air dates are checked against the networks' published episode listings and public schedule data (Listings data via TVmaze), and when a network changes its schedule we update the same page. Local stations sometimes replace network shows with local sports or news; we only report a local change when the station or network has announced it. We are not affiliated with CBS, NBC, ABC or any show we cover. No screen captures; images are our own illustrations, credited Wikimedia Commons photos and official clips embedded from the networks' channels. Until September 2026 this site covered TV shopping deals (QVC, HSN and morning-show deal segments), and those earlier posts remain available in the archive.

Editorial standards

Primetime Drama On Air is produced under editorial rules that require every air date, air time and preemption to be checked against at least two sources before publishing: the episode listings the networks publish, public listings data and, for schedule changes, the networks' announcements or established outlets. Sources are listed at the end of each post. When a network has not announced an episode yet, we say so instead of guessing. We do not reproduce episodes or clips, and we do not use broadcast screen captures; images are our own illustrations, credited Wikimedia Commons photos and official clips embedded from the networks' YouTube channels.
