HSN Today's Special vs QVC TSV: Which Daily Deal Is Actually Cheaper?

The two networks are owned by the same parent and sell to overlapping audiences, yet their daily deals behave nothing alike. One is a week-long anchor; the other is a genuine twenty-four-hour item.
What is the structural difference between the two deals?
QVC's Today's Special Value is now often a multi-day offer wearing a daily badge. The vacuum we checked on September 7, 2026 had a countdown reading six days and nineteen hours.
HSN's Today's Special stays closer to its name. It rolls at midnight Eastern and is pushed hard through repeated on-air blocks during the day rather than parked for a week.
Which one is cheaper, in practice?
Neither, because they are not competing on the same shelf. On the morning we compared them, QVC was running a $199.98 cordless vacuum and HSN a $59.99 two-pack of plug-in air purifiers.
What you can compare is how each price behaves against the open market. QVC's vacuum sat about $20 under the nearest model we could price at Walmart; HSN's purifier pair worked out $33.65 under two of the closest plug-in rival, delivered.
Does shipping change the answer?
Often, and it is the single biggest swing factor between the two. QVC's TSVs frequently ship free on standard service, and that day's vacuum did.
HSN charged $5.50 on its Today's Special, which is 9.2% of the $59.99 item price. On a cheap item, shipping is not a rounding error — it is a material part of the deal.
Which network's reference prices are more honest?
Both use a comparison figure that is theirs rather than the market's, and both deserve the same scepticism. QVC showed a $399.99 "Comparable Retail Value" on an item whose closest live rival was $219.99.
HSN showed "If Purchased Separately value: $159.98" on a pair priced at $59.99, implying $79.99 a unit — a price we could not find on the brand's own store or at Walmart. The reference figures are directionally useful and numerically unreliable, on both sides.
How much choice does each network actually give you?
QVC spreads the badge across variants. On the morning we counted, twenty-five listings carried the TSV label, but most were sizes and colours of four or five underlying products.
HSN presents one item and repeats it on air. The catalogue depth is lower and the message is louder, which is why HSN deals sell through faster and QVC deals restock mid-run.
How do the payment plans compare?
HSN offers more rungs. Its ladder ran from a single payment to five, with a cardholder-only sixth option, while QVC presented one five-payment split.

What about returns?
Both stated 30 days, but the deductions differ in tone. HSN's public line pairs the 30-day window with free exchanges for a different size or colour.

Which one should you actually watch?
Watch QVC if you buy in the $150-and-up bracket. Free standard shipping, a five-way split and a week-long window make it the better format for appliances, mattresses and electronics.
Watch HSN if you buy small and often. The daily rotation surfaces more items over a month, and the sub-$100 deals are where we have found the biggest gaps against mainstream retail so far.
