HSN Today's Special Sept 7, 2026: HoMedics 2-Pack Plug-In Air Purifiers at $59.99 — Cheaper Than Walmart?

Short version: HSN is selling two HoMedics plug-in air purifiers for $59.99 plus $5.50 shipping. That is $32.75 a unit delivered, against $49.57 for the nearest plug-in UV-C rival we could price at Walmart this morning. A later check found Amazon selling what looks like the same HoMedics plug-in as a single unit for $19.80, which undercuts HSN's per-unit price; the details are in the price table below.

What is HSN's Today's Special for September 7?

It is the HoMedics Set of 2 Total Clean Plug-in Air Purifiers, HSN item 937-701, in white. The box holds two purifiers and a user manual, and the listing carried a "New" flag with no review score attached yet.

HSN was showing the deal at $59.99 against an HSN Deal price of $72.99, a 17% cut. A separate line read "If Purchased Separately value: $159.98," which is HSN's own reference figure rather than a price we found anywhere in the wild.

What does it cost once shipping and FlexPay are added?

Shipping and handling was $5.50, so the delivered total is $65.49. Split across the two units, that is $32.75 each.

FlexPay offers five payments of $12.00, which totals $60.00 — a penny above the one-time price. Cardholders can stretch to six ExtraFlex payments of $10.00, which also lands on $60.00. Is it cheaper anywhere else?

This is the line that changes the verdict. Amazon lists the HoMedics TotalClean Personal UV-C Plug-In Air Sanitizer as a single unit at $19.80, sold by Amazon, at 6:45 a.m. ET. Two of them come to $39.60, and an order over $35 ships free, so the delivered total is about $26 less than HSN's $65.49 for the pair. The Amazon listing reads as the same model family as HSN item 937-701, but HSN does not print the model number on its page, so compare the plug shape and the UV-C spec before you assume they are identical. Target does not carry the plug-in at all; its nearest HoMedics item is a portable HEPA purifier at $34.99, a different product. Prices change without notice.

Here the answer is unusual, and it is the reason this deal is worth a look. HoMedics does not list a wall-outlet plug-in purifier on its own store at all, and Walmart's catalogue does not carry this HoMedics model either.

Set the two two-packs side by side and the gap is wide. Two GermGuardian AC225W units run $99.14 before shipping; HSN's pair lands at $65.49 delivered, or $33.65 less.

The catch is the reference price. HSN's "$159.98 if purchased separately" implies $79.99 a unit, and no listing at that price turned up on the brand's own store or at Walmart. Treat it as a suggested value, not a market rate — a habit we explain in the guide to how these daily deals are priced.

What is actually inside, and what does UV-C do?

Each unit plugs straight into a wall outlet, has auto shut-off, and measures roughly 10 by 9.66 by 11 inches at 4.86 pounds. The construction is plastic, the model number is 937701, and the product is imported.

HoMedics describes a UV-C light that reduces common household bacteria in a test conducted in 105 cubic feet, plus an ionizer that helps reduce cooking, smoke, bathroom, laundry and pet odours in a test conducted in 80 cubic feet. Note the room sizes in those claims: 105 cubic feet is a closet, not a bedroom.

One caution worth reading before you buy. The US Environmental Protection Agency has published guidance noting that ionizers are less effective than HEPA filters at removing particles, and that devices producing ozone can reach levels above public health standards indoors. Anyone with asthma or another respiratory condition should read that page first; this is a product note, not medical advice.

Has HoMedics had a recall on this kind of product?

We searched the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's public recall database rather than taking the listing at face value. Nothing there covers HoMedics air purifiers.

The brand's three logged recalls are massagers in January 2024, nightlights in November 2018 and massagers again in May 2017. That is a clean record for the air category, though a clean record is not the same as a tested one.

When is it on television today?

HSN is running "Fall Home Solutions featuring Homedics" at 6 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern. The morning block, "HSN Today with Friends — Labor Day Sale," runs 8 to 10 a.m. ET, and the full grid for both networks sits on today's on-air schedule.

So what is the best way to buy today?

On the numbers, Amazon wins, with one condition. Two single HoMedics plug-in sanitizers at $19.80 each come to $39.60 with free shipping over $35, about $26 under HSN's delivered $65.49, provided the Amazon unit is the same model as the pair in HSN's box. HSN's case is a different one: both units arrive in one order, FlexPay spreads it over five payments, and the 30-day window includes free exchanges, which matters for a product whose odour claim you can only test in your own kitchen.

Second best is HSN itself at $32.75 a unit delivered. The GermGuardian AC225W at Walmart, $49.57 for one, no longer looks like the value pick once the Amazon price is on the table. What you should not do is anchor on the $159.98 figure.
