Is Sheriff Country new tonight?
On Fridays, yes. Season 2 opened on Oct. 9 with "Cyclone." CBS's release for that hour had Sheriff Mickey Fox absorbing a shock about her own family while she tries to pull a troubled young woman out of a criminal operation that turns out to threaten the whole town of Edgewater. The release listed Ben McKenzie as guest star, playing Sheriff Wade, who runs the neighboring county and is called in to help. TVLine notes that McKenzie is married to series lead Morena Baccarin.
Week two, "Family Trust" on Oct. 16, kept Mickey on a trafficking investigation and sent Wes and Eva into an undercover sting. A 30-year-old cold case also reopened, per CBS's release. On Oct. 23, "Ulysses" deals with a new drug moving through Edgewater's college crowd. In "Maria" on Oct. 30, a manhunt widens while old family wounds catch up with Mickey, and Jordan Calloway of Fire Country guest stars, per the CBS release.
When is the next new episode of Sheriff Country?

The Futon Critic's CBS listings run further, through Nov. 20, and hold the 8 p.m. slot on Nov. 13 and Nov. 20 without naming an episode. Nothing in that stretch is marked as a repeat or left blank.

Why isn't Sheriff Country on some Fridays?
Through Oct. 2 the answer was simple: Season 2 hadn't started, and CBS was running Season 1 repeats. From Oct. 9 the listings show the show in its slot every Friday through Nov. 20. A local CBS station can still move a network hour for high school or college sports or for breaking news, so look at your station's schedule if 8 p.m. shows something else.
For the rest of the CBS week, see Marshals and Tracker on Sunday, FBI and CIA on Monday, the NCIS block on Tuesday and Elsbeth on Thursday. The CBS page lists them together.
Who is in the Sheriff Country cast?
Morena Baccarin plays Sheriff Mickey Fox. TVLine's Season 2 cast rundown also lists Matt Lauria as Nathan Boone, W. Earl Brown as Mickey's father Wes, Christopher Gorham as Travis Fraley, Michele Weaver as Cassidy Campbell, Amanda Arcuri as Skye and Ian Quinlan as Hank. Rachel Ticotin plays Eva Santos. The show is a spinoff of Fire Country and is set in the same town.

Frequently asked questions
Is Sheriff Country on Paramount+?
Yes. Per CBS's release, the Premium plan carries the live CBS broadcast and on-demand viewing, and the Essential plan adds each episode on demand a day later.
Do I have to watch Fire Country first?
No. Sheriff Country follows its own cases with its own lead. Mickey Fox is the stepsister of Fire Country's Sharon Leone, so the two shows share a town and some family ties, but each one runs its own stories.
