Is Fire Country new tonight?
It is new on Fridays, and Season 5 began on Oct. 9 with "Founders' Day." CBS's release for that premiere sets the hour during Edgewater's annual town festival, when a sinkhole opens under Main Street and traps people below ground. Station 42 handles the rescue. The same release says a former firefighter with an unexplained past turns up in town.
That newcomer is CJ Ryan, played by Olivia Thirlby, who joins as a series regular. Paramount+'s season guide describes CJ as a decorated city firefighter with no wildland experience.

CBS has issued episode releases for the Fridays through Nov. 6, and the Nov. 6 hour is the second half of a crossover with Sheriff Country. In "Fire Under Fire" on Oct. 16, a fast wildfire closed in on Edgewater and both Station 42 and Three Rock worked to contain it, per CBS's release, with Morena Baccarin and Ian Quinlan of Sheriff Country guest starring. "What Needs to Be Done" on Oct. 23 turns on money trouble at Station 42 and Bode's push for a volunteer firefighting program. In "Winners and Losers" on Oct. 30, Station 42 comes under scrutiny and a test for the volunteers turns into a rescue. W. Earl Brown of Sheriff Country guest stars, per the CBS release.
Season 5 runs 13 episodes, according to Paramount+'s guide. Season 4 had 20.

When is the Fire Country and Sheriff Country crossover?
Friday, Nov. 6. Sheriff Country goes first at 8 p.m. ET/PT with "No Way In," and Fire Country follows at 9 p.m. ET/PT with "No Way Out." TVLine reports that the story starts with a prison break and becomes a manhunt, and that Max Thieriot, Kevin Alejandro and Jules Latimer appear in the Sheriff Country hour. Paramount+ lists the same date, order and titles.
Who is in the Fire Country cast this season?
Max Thieriot plays Bode Leone and Kevin Alejandro plays Manny Perez. Diane Farr is back as Sharon, Jordan Calloway as Jake and Jules Latimer as Eve, per Showbiz Junkies' premiere preview. Olivia Thirlby is the new regular. Eric Guggenheim, who wrote the premiere, is the showrunner for Season 5.
