It is also a jacket you cannot price-shop. Denim & Co. is made for QVC, so there is no Amazon listing, no Walmart listing and no Target listing to compare against. The useful question is not "is it cheaper elsewhere" but "is $59.98 a fair price for this kind of jacket," and that is what the numbers below answer.

What is QVC selling for $59.98 today?

The Denim & Co. Quilted Zip-Front Sweater Jacket, item A736107 in regular lengths and A736113 in petite. Both pages carry the Today's Special Value badge and both show the same $59.98.

It is a mixed-media piece rather than a straight puffer: a diamond-quilted front panel with princess seams, shaker-stitch knit sleeves and a jersey-stitch sweater back, with a ribbed stand collar, on-seam pockets and a ribbed hem.

Can you buy this jacket anywhere else?

No, and we looked. Denim & Co. is a QVC-made label, which means the usual price-match routine returns nothing.

How does $59.98 compare to a quilted jacket at Target, Walmart or Amazon?

These are different jackets from different brands. They are here to price the category, not to match the item, and none of them is a sweater-back hybrid.

So QVC is asking roughly $10 to $16 more than the mass-market quilted jacket, before shipping. What the extra buys is the part most listings skip: eleven regular sizes and eleven petite sizes at one price, with free exchanges if the first one is wrong.

Is 18.9% off actually a big discount for a TSV?

For QVC, yes. We have logged every QVC Today's Special Value since Sept. 7, and the pattern is tighter than the marketing suggests.

Ten of those 14 land between 16.7 and 17.9 percent off. The median is 17.75 percent, and every discount above 23 percent went to an outside brand: Shark, Barefoot Dreams, Le Creuset, Altec Lansing.

QVC's own labels have not crossed 18 percent all month. Today's 18.9 percent is the first one that does, which makes it a small but real outlier rather than the blowout the badge implies.

What is the real total after shipping, Easy Pay and the code?

Three numbers, and the gap between them is smaller than most people expect.

Easy Pay is not a discount, but the rounding makes it a cent cheaper than paying outright, and QVC adds no interest. Sales tax varies by state and is not in these totals.

The VIPTSV5 code is the only real saving, and it is $3.00. It needs a store card you already hold. Opening a credit account to save three dollars on a jacket is not a trade we would make. What is it made of, and how warm will it be?

The quilted front panel, its lining and its fill are 100 percent polyester. The sleeves and back are a 60 percent cotton, 40 percent acrylic knit.

That split is the whole design and the whole limitation: the front blocks wind, the back and sleeves breathe and stretch like a sweater. It will not behave like a down coat, and the listing does not claim it will.

Has Denim & Co. had a TSV like this before?

When does the TSV end? QVC's pages say only "ends in 1 day" and publish no clock time, so a TSV can run past midnight into the next morning. HSN's daily deal posts an explicit countdown instead.

Is $74.00 a price it actually sold at? QVC shows $74.00 as the was-price. We cannot verify how long it held there, and a was-price proves nothing on its own.

Can I get it in petite? Yes, item A736113, same $59.98, sizes XXSP through 5XP.

What if the size is wrong? QVC lists free exchanges for 30 days on this item.
